Is motivation really the main problem? Is that the thing that reduces the effectiveness of training the most? It's certainly a signficant factor but can I assume it's the only one? Well, I did mention that fact that bad instructional design may also be a factor. What about student feedback? Well, that may be related to bad instructional design but again it could be to do with student confidence, lack of PC skills and access to technology. I need to not only understand my students better, but also my students' students in order to really get the bottom of what my training needs to do!

Can you separate motivation from instructional design and other contextual factors?
